University Overview

Xiamen University (XMU), founded in 1921 by Mr. Tan Kah Kee, a renowned overseas Chinese entrepreneur and philanthropist, was the first China higher-education institution established by an overseas Chinese. Being a leading research-intensive China university, XMU is ranked 11th in mainland China by The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-2016.

As a key element of its international strategy, XMU has established an international branch campus- Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), which aspires to become a university with a distinct global outlook,featuring first-class teaching and research, and embracing cultural diversity. Positions Available

A) Associate/Assistant Professor& (Senior) Lecturer in Information Technology

Essential Qualifications

1) Applicants must possess a PhD degree in a related discipline;

2) Excellent written and oral English skills;

3) At least 2 years’ teaching experience in required subjects;

4) Teaching specialization: Computing Mathematics, Programming Language, Computer Fundamentals, Computer Science and Technology, Information Systems, Data Structure, Data Mining Method in the Network Era, Programming Practice, etc.

5) Proven research potential is required.

B) Associate/Assistant Professor& (Senior) Lecturer in Journalism

Essential Qualifications

1) Applicants must possess a PhD degree in a related discipline;

2)Excellent written and oral English skills;

3) At least 2 years’ teaching experience in required subjects;

4) Teaching specialization: ENG Field Production, Basic News Writing, New Media Studies, News editing, Cross-Cultural Communication, Psychology of Interpersonal Communication, Interview for Journalists, Comparative Study of Journalism Laws and Policies, Photojournalism, Mass Communication, etc.

5) Proven research potential is required.

C) Associate/Assistant Professor& (Senior) Lecturer in Mathematics

Essential Qualifications

1) Applicants must possess a PhD degree in a related discipline;

2) Excellent written and oral English skills;

3) At least 2 years’ teaching experience in required subjects;

4) Teaching specialization: Calculus, Advanced Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Probability Statistics, etc.

5) Proven research potential is required.

D) Associate/Assistant Professor& (Senior) Lecturer in Economics and Accounting

Essential Qualifications

1) Applicants must possess a PhD degree in a related discipline;

2) Excellent written and oral English skills;

3) At least 2 years’ teaching experience in required subjects;

4) Teaching specialization: Finance, Economics, Accounting, Quantitative Methods and Data Analysis, Game Theory, Management, Commercial Banking, International Business Environment, Monetary Policy and Financial Supervision, International Business Law, etc.

5) Proven research potential is required.

E) Dean of China-ASEAN College(Marine Sciences )

Essential Qualifications

1) A doctoral degree and a full professorship (or an equivalent position) in a prominent university (or research institutes)

2)Be a specialist in any field related to marine sciences

3) Be in good health and 55 years old or younger (The age restriction can be exempt for outstanding talent)

4) Overseas experience (study or work) is required. The candidate should have international perspective, strategic and creative thinking on marine discipline development

5) Be expected to have distinguished academic credentials and international recognition for his/her achievements in research, scholarship and teaching

6) A proven record of high-level administrative and leadership experience in a university setting, such as a department, a research institute or a laboratory, and will be able to take charge of teaching, research, team building, discipline development, social services and administration.

F) Associate Dean of China-ASEAN College(Marine Sciences)

Essential Qualifications

1) A doctoral degree and at least an associate professorship (or an equivalent position) in a prominent university (or research institutes)

2)Be a specialist in any field related to marine sciences

3)Be in good health and 50 years old or younger (The age restriction can be exempt for outstanding talent)

4) Overseas experience (study or work) is required. The candidate should have international perspective, strategic and creative thinking on marine discipline development

5)A proven record of high-level administrative and leadership experience in a university setting, such as a department, a research institute or a laboratory, and will be able to take charge of teaching, research, team building, discipline development, social services and administration.
